PARTICIPANT INFORMATION:
GENERAL INFO
- DEADLINE TO PARTICPATE: Interested artists/artisans should contact info@biddefordartwalk.com or call 207.229.3560 to sign up
before THE PRECEDING FRIDAY BY 5PM.
- TABLE VENDORS: For outdoor events, you must supply your own tables, displays, tents, canopies, umbrellas, and seating. For indoor events, we can provide chairs.
- SET UP: Table vendors may begin setting up no earlier than 2pm and must be complete by 5pm the day of the event. Hallway gallery artists can come anytime the week of the event and must be hung by 5pm the day of the event.
- For Mechanics Park: VERY VERY IMPORTANT: Tents CANNOT BE staked, nothing can be driven into the ground/grass because of a giant sewer holding tank just inches under the surface of this lovely park. By signing the liability waiver, you agree to any damages. Use bricks/blocks/sandbags instead.
For Shevenell Park: pavers cover the ground so there is nothing to drive stakes into, you should bring sandbags or something to weight your tent down in case it's windy.
- TEAR DOWN: Please try to remove your set ups as quickly as possible after event. Hallway artists are welcome to leave their work until the week before the next event.
PARKING & DROP OFF/PICK UP
- We are encouraging vendors to park as far away from venues as feasible, to leave spaces for attendees. See downtown map at bottom of home page.
- AT THE NORTH DAM MILL: After unloading, you MUST park your vehicle off-site to
allow parking for attendees and residents. There is plenty of parking just
steps from the North Dam Mill all along Main Street, on Water Street and a little
further away at the Saco Transportation Center
- AT SHEVENELL PARK: We will block off space at the rear of the park for unloading/loading.
- AT MECHANIC'S PARK: We will block off two parking spots where you can unload, up until 4:45pm. You must move your car to a street parking spot immediately after unloading to allow for the next vendor to drop off.
PAYMENT & LIABILITY
- LIABILITY WAIVER: All vendors and artists displaying work in a park, storefront, or North Dam Mill hallway gallery or exhibition space must sign a liability waiver. Engine, Inc. and ArtWalk cannot accept responsibility for damage or theft to participant's merchandise or damage to any premises by participants.

HALLWAY ARTIST INFORMATION
- SPACE: We provide a 10' wide wall space for hanging work. You may bring a small chair/small pedestal (no deeper than 24") to place next to your work. We cannot accommodate large tables in the hallway, these create traffic obstructions and are against fire codes. You may purchase an additional 10' space but the fee doubles.
- PICTURE RAIL SYSTEM: All artists MUST use the picture rail for hanging their work. The rail is 112" from the floor. If you are not familiar with a picture rail system, please visit the North Dam Mill well in advance of the event to see how work is being hung.
- SUPPLIES: You must bring your own items required for hanging: heavy-duty filament/picture wire, needle-nose pliers, and S-hooks, and a ladder. The venue will not provide these items.
- HANGING: It is recommended to hang salon style, not gallery style, as it is somewhat difficult to align pieces using the picture rail method. S-hooks are available at ArtMart downtown Biddeford and Sam's Place in downtown Saco. See this diagram for recommendations for your best display.
- HEIGHT: Many pictures get hung too high for the average person. Strive for between 55" and 65" inches on center, or so that the piece's center is eye-level for an average height person.
- LABELS: ho hang their work from the picture rail may bring labels for their work but must use LIGHT TACK art gum (available at ArtMart downtown Biddeford and Sam's Place in downtown Saco) to adhere the labels.
- NO HOLES PLEASE! Do not use nails, pins, tacks, heavy duty tape that will removes paint.
